Anton Kocyan Educational Trail – Route A

The longer Route A of the Anton Kocyan Educational Trail introduces visitors to the natural environment of Oravice and the northern part of the Western Tatras through 22 educational stops. From Oravice, the trail initially follows an asphalt forest road along the Oravica River into Tichá Valley. It then turns towards the Slovak-Polish border and returns through forested terrain below Magura. A separate branch of the trail also leads towards Magura. Three wooden observation towers along the route offer views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Information panels introduce visitors to local flora and fauna, wetlands, forests, water, nature conservation, the history of hiking and the life of Anton Kocyan.
