The surroundings of Orava Reservoir offer excellent conditions for skiing for both beginners and advanced skiers. Smaller ski resorts are ideal for families and relaxed skiing, while larger resorts provide longer slopes and beautiful mountain views. Popular destinations include Ski Oravská Polhora, Kubínska hoľa, and Roháče – Spálená. Besides downhill skiing, the region is also well suited for cross-country skiing and winter walks.
